Is the Honda Accord 2022 a good car?
The new Honda Accord is a good mid-range car with a lot of variety for the consumer. Opting for a new Accord gives buyers a choice of three different powertrains, including a few fuel-saving hybrid options. However, if fuel efficiency isn’t an issue, Honda offers the Accord with a 2.0L turbocharged 252 horsepower engine. However, Consumer Reports found the gear selector unnecessarily complicated on the 2.0L car.
Which trim is the most efficient?
TrueCar found the hybrid Accords to be much more efficient than the comparable gas-powered models. The Hybrid and Hybrid EX-L in particular lead the way in terms of fuel efficiency. Both cars get a reported 48 mpg in the city and 47 mpg at highway speeds. Conversely, with the 2.0L engine, the Sport and Sport SE only get 29 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
Beyond efficiency, the Accord Hybrid models don’t compromise on performance for the range. Consumer Reports says the Accord managed to maintain its performance despite using an economical hybrid system. You won’t win drag races, though, with a 1.5L Accord taking just under eight seconds to hit 60 mph. While that’s not bad, it won’t be enough for those in need of speed.
