According to car dealer, the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Blue’s 59 combined mpg (58 city/60 highway) earns it the top spot on the list of the best gas mileage new cars. The Ioniq Blue squeezes 139 hp from its hybrid petrol and electric combination.
As the base model of the Ioniq, the Ioniq Blue starts at $23,600 but still offers a host of advanced features such as wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, an 8-inch color touchscreen audio display, dual climate control, forward collision assist with pedestrian detection and lane assistance.
2022 Toyota Prius L Eco
As the previous gas mileage champion, the 2022 Toyota Prius L Eco remains a close second based on its 56 combined mpg rating (53 city/58 highway). As the base Prius model, the Eco trim starts at $25,075 and features a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric hybrid powertrain to produce 121 horsepower. Safety features include a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, Lane Departure Alert with steering assistance and radar-assisted cruise control.
2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Blue

2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE
While the 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE placed fourth on our list with three other entrants with 52 combined mpg (51 city/53 highway), it stands out with 208 horsepower produced by its 2.5-liter four-cylinder-based hybrid powertrain. . It’s also the most expensive hybrid on our list at $27,480. The Camry Hybrid LE offers a similar range of safety and convenience features to the Toyota Corolla Hybrid LE listed above, but in a larger, more powerful package.
2022 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Blue
