“Stricter measures during events that could lead to inappropriate behavior and dangerous behavior by drivers of powerful vehicles on public roads.” The prince’s government made its intentions clear.
With the Monaco Grand Prix and Top Marques event approaching, they don’t want a repeat of what happened in 2018. Dozens of vehicles and hundreds of people took to the streets near the Fairmont Hotel, leading to dangerous behavior.

The Principality wants to “keep the aforementioned phenomena (sports car rallies, ed.) in check as much as possible”. This year, the influencer GMK was named an ambassador for the Top Marques event, and it is hoped that his many followers will heed his message of restraint. In addition, as in 2019, the duration of the seizure of vehicles in violation of the law will be extended during the following events:
- 13e Historic Grand Prix – May 13-15, 2022;
- 79e Monaco F1 Grand Prix – 26 Years 29 May 2022;
- Exhibition Top Marques 2022 – June 8-12, 2022.
If traffic rules are violated, vehicles will be impounded for a longer period of 120 hours.
