While the story and side missions make up most of the content in Grand Theft Auto games allow players to participate in a plethora of other activities to pass their time. After all, sometimes players need a break from all the chaos unfolding on the screen.
These activities and hobbies, in the form of mini-games, provide players with a fun diversion when they feel like something a little lighter. Whether for an achievement/trophy or any other reward, taking part in these great minigames is rarely a waste of time. The following minigames are some of the: Grand Theft Auto franchise’s best (and addictive) entertainment.
In Grand Theft Auto 4, the Bowling minigame has become infamous for Roman Bellic’s annoying habit of harassing the main character with requests to hang out in Memory Lanes. Apart from this humorous irritation, Bowling turns out to be a fun activity in GTA 4†
The mechanics of the game are simple: players choose their starting position behind the line, take their shot and can control the angle of the ball for a short period of time before it crosses the red center marks. Unfortunately, Bowling was left out Grand Theft Auto 5so i hope the minigame comes back in the next installment.
Tennis is one of the many sports that players can participate in GTA 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online† The minigame is unlocked early in the game after completing “Complications” as Franklin. There are several courts scattered throughout the city, but the most convenient location is behind Michael’s house.
While not overly complicated, tennis can take some practice. Fans can choose which shot they want to take and must constantly reposition themselves to stay ahead of the defense. It can be quite an addictive distraction, especially on higher difficulty settings.
5 Badlands Revenge II
Older fans who have spent a lot of time in arcades may feel a little nostalgic for games like Badlands Revenge II. It is a western shooter with light artillery where players have to send a series of enemies on rails. The minigame can only be played in Grand Theft Auto Online†
Accuracy is the name of the game in Badlands Revenge II. Like many retro light-gun shooters in real life, players have to avoid hitting innocent civilians while targeting the bad guys. A variety of health items, ammo drops, and power-ups also pollute the environment. There are five stages to the game, each with its own antagonists and settings, although the central objective remains the same throughout.
Darts is a minigame that made its franchise debut in Grand Theft Auto 4although fans can also play it in Grand Theft Auto 5† Darts is an easy way to pass the time during a date or friends activity. Fans must reduce their score to zero as quickly as possible before their opponent does the same.
It doesn’t take long to master darts. When aiming, the player’s reticle shakes quite a bit. Fans can improve their accuracy and reduce shaking for a short time to get the perfect shot. It’s an easy game to understand and offers just enough challenge to keep players interested for a short time.
3 Casino games
Why not burn some of that ill-gotten money on a game of chance? A lot Grand Theft Auto games have given the players the opportunity to gamble, especially in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas† Games such as Blackjack, Roulette, Slot Machines, Video Poker and the Wheel of Fortune, as well as interactive horse racing, appeared in San Andreas†
Although it’s not as exciting as winning Real money, players can at least act like high rollers and toss around large sums of money if they want to pass the time. The rules of each game are simple enough to understand and can be a fun interlude before moving on to the next mission.
QUB3D is yet another arcade game that can be played in Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto Online† It is a mixture of Puyo Puyo and Tetris† Players are tasked with matching groups of four or more colored blocks before the box is filled. Fans are short on time as the blocks tumble off the top of the screen.
Of course, the speed of the blocks increases as players gain levels. Fans can use various special abilities to counter the increased difficulty and achieve the highest score. It’s a deceptively simple premise that’s more complex than it sounds. No doubt many fans had a hard time getting the highest QUB3D score in GTA 4a requirement for achieving 100% completion.
1 Swimming pool
Pool, especially the 8-Ball variant, can be played in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto 4† The rules are simple: fans must pocket all balls of a certain type (stripes or solid) and then pocket the 8-Ball. Mastering Pool is complicated, however, as players often have to think several moves ahead to stay competitive.
Since Pool requires a fair amount of strategy and foresight, it serves as one of the more interesting minigames in the game Grand Theft Auto franchisee. Any activity that takes a little time and patience to master is usually a worthwhile minigame to take up, especially for an open world series like GTA†
