Car crashes on top of parked car in residential building in Raleigh
RALEIGH, NC (WTVD) — Monday afternoon, a highly unusual crash scene is being investigated in Raleigh.

Chopper 11 flew over the scene near the intersection of Garner Road and McMakin Street.

A damaged white pickup truck was seen crashing on top of a black car and leaning against the side of a residential building. A third damaged car was parked a few meters away.

Raleigh Police said the truck was speeding down McMakin Street. He shot through the stop sign at the Garner Road intersection, jumped a curb, hit a car in the driveway, flipped over and landed on top of another car parked in the driveway.

Gerald Lamont Perry lives in the building where the accident happened. He has to find another place to stay for the time being.

“That’s an unsafe building there. So I’m concerned about me and my family and where they will be tonight. So it’s up to the landlord, and if he doesn’t do anything about it, I’ll contact Raleigh Housing Authority today, said Perry.

Dozens of first responders responded to the crash. They had to get the driver of the truck out and take him to the hospital. The extent of his injuries has not been released.
