Charge pending after car hits electricity pole, house in Darien |  great story

DARIEN — Charges are pending after a one-car crash that injured three people, Genesee County sheriff deputies said.

Michael J. Antonucci, 39, of Darien was heading west on Erie Street at 7:02 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle hit its shoulder before hitting a utility pole and a house, deputies said.

Officers arrived on the scene and found that two of the rear passengers were trapped in the vehicle. The firefighters from Darien and Corfu arrived and were able to free them.

Passenger Tanya L. Captain, 34, of Darien was flown to Erie County Medical Center for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Antonucci and Shawn M. Kwiatek, 43, of Darien were taken to ECMC by Mercy EMS. Their injuries were also described as non-life-threatening.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
