Colony police getting ready to wash cars for a good cause

COLONY — You can have your car washed in Colonie for a good cause.

The Colony Police Department will be holding a car wash at the Shaker Road- Loudonville Fire Department on Albany Shaker Road Wednesday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It is free. They only ask for donations to the American Cancer Society.

It’s one of the many things Colonie Police community services are doing this summer.

“Working with the American Cancer Society, coffee with an agent, kickball with the kids. We hosted ice cream in Kurver Kreme last week, so we’re trying to get our community involved in every way we can,” said Sergeant Anthony Sidoti. “Because we are part of the community and care about us. We want to be part of the fabric of the city of Colonie and involve our people in a positive and healthy way.”

Colony Police also had a pop-up cookout at a senior citizen community.
