NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office officers responded quickly to a car break-in Tuesday night and managed to arrest a suspect and recover what was stolen.
Beats earbuds, an iPhone charger, two ceramic cup holders and a black suitcase stolen during the car break-in were all recovered when officers spotted a man matching the victim’s description, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. a press release.
Emergency services responded to the break-in on Beau Pre Road Tuesday night, circling the area and finding 20-year-old Deontae Dison, questioning him and recovering the items.
Dison was transported to the Adams County Jail and charged him with car burglary.
Adams County Sheriff Patten said he was proud of his deputies for being observant in locating Dison and also diligent in recovering the stolen items.
“They didn’t just answer the call and go back to patrolling the province,” Patten said in a press release. “They took the initiative to look for the suspect, which probably saved the province from more car break-ins in the area.”
