CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police tried to contain a mob of hundreds of people who flooded from North Avenue Beach on Tuesday night.

Video posted to Citizen app showed large crowds gathered at the Shell station on North Avenue and LaSalle Boulevard, the BP station on LaSalle Drive and Clark Street, and at the intersection of North Avenue and Clark Street.

People have been seen jumping on cars and at least one driver has been seen jumping out. Dozens and possibly hundreds of others were seen in the middle of the street.

There was also a large police presence at every intersection.
