Dexter is the best fit for the automotive diagnostic company's global headquarters

A global company specializing in vehicle diagnostics has relocated its global headquarters to Dexter.

Opus IVS specializes in communicating with the computers that power most modern vehicles. If a warning light appears on your dashboard or if your vehicle is involved in a collision, they can tell you what’s going on.

As cars become more complex, business was good, leading Opus IVS to outgrow its global headquarters near the city Ann Arbor airport.

Last month, they completed a move to a 5,000-square-foot facility in Dexter.

Jim Fish, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, says they could double the workforce in the next 18 months, and Dexter’s proximity to the Ann Arbor talent base was a big selling point.

“A number of locations were looked at from the M-14 corridor, all the way to Plymouth was looked at, then going west, even as far as Chelsea, north as far as Brighton and Dexter was the best choice.”

Fish says the company has offices in California, Arizona, North Carolina, New York, the United Kingdom and Australia, but Dexter acts as its “technology hub.”
