Good Samaritans rescue man from burning vehicle after crash

A group of Good Samaritans rescued a man from his burning SUV Tuesday night after he ran off a road and crashed into a tree in Mercer County.

The 33-year-old was driving on Whitehorse Hamilton Square Road in Hamilton at about 9:50 p.m. when the crash occurred and the vehicle caught fire, city police said.

Local residents who heard the crash pulled the Hamilton resident from the vehicle. Rescuers arrived to treat the man and then took him to a hospital in the region to be treated for burns and injuries, police said.

Hamilton Police could not be reached for more information Friday.

The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Hamilton Police at 609-581-4000.
