Almost every car manufacturer today has at least one compact SUV in their range, as they are the most sold segment on the market today. Compact SUVs are very popular with families for their practicality and ease of driving. Most compact SUVs are easy to drive and park in the city, and they offer excellent mileage. They also offer spacious cabins and luggage boxes, making them ideal for families and everyday use.

Nissan recently launched the 2023 iteration of the Rogue with a base price of $27,360. The 2023 Nissan Rogues has a capable engine

Under the hood is a 1.5-litre VC-Turbo three-cylinder engine mated to a CVT gearbox and direct injection fuel system. The engine can produce a solid 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, and power is delivered to the front or to all four wheels.

With such power churning through the engine, the Nissan Rogue can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds and take 15.7 seconds to cover a quarter of a mile. It also has an electronically limited top speed of 216 mph. While the Rogue’s engine has a smaller capacity, given it’s a compact SUV, the turbocharged three-cylinder SUV offers maximum power at relatively lower revs. This improves fuel consumption and ensures a spirited engine behaviour.

The 1.5-liter VC Turbo three-cylinder engine, combined with front-wheel drive, delivers 30 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway. The four-wheel drive models cut mileage by 2 MPG, so they offer 28 MPG in the city and 35 on the highway, which is impressive for a mid-sized SUV. It comes with a 14.5 gallon fuel tank, which will allow it to cover 507-536 miles on the highway.

Nissan Rogue offers refined handling

All finishes come with front-wheel drive as standard, and they are great for regular use, with plenty of power and good handling for everyday use. For those with a soft angle for adventure, Nissan offers an optional intelligent four-wheel drive system with excellent grip off-road. In addition, the front-wheel drive models are equipped with Eco and Sport modes to save fuel or add power depending on the situation. The four-wheel drive models offer snow and off-road modes for extra control in challenging conditions.

The villain has an outdoor character

The current Nissan Rogue is one of the most beautiful compact SUVs on the market. The overall exterior styling is contemporary and sleek. The fascia looks polished with sharp wedge-shaped DRLs and chunky headlights underneath. The grille has a distinctive design with a chrome Nissan emblem. The front bumper looks muscular and also offers decent functionality.

The latest Rogue looks stronger from behind. The black trim, thick diffuser and wide headlights give it a tough character. The Rogue has a balanced wheelbase of 106.5 feet, and this helps it balance handling and ride like a pro. Plus, the Rogue is a big crossover, but in reality it looks sleek. The SUV comes standard with automatic LED headlights with DRLs, LED fog lights, UV goggles and rear spoilers and offers decent functionality.

The Nissan Rogue has a luxurious interior

The Nissan Rogue offers a luxurious interior with excellent space and comfort. Nissan has used a modern layout and flooded the cabin with clear, durable materials that look great and increase the quality quotient. The cockpit looks sporty and offers excellent functionality. Most of the cabin is built with textured plastics to help with soundproofing, and they promise excellent build quality. Other parts such as the center dashboard, door panels, armrest and others are covered with plastic. For decoration, the cabin uses plastic, wood-finished trim and metal accents. The dashboard offers intuitive controls and features a docked touchscreen and streamlined air vents for climate control and a console below.

The interior seats five people and offers an admirable passenger space of 105.4 cu. ft., making the cab feel spacious and tidy. The taller models add a two-panel panoramic sunroof for extra circulation of light and air throughout the interior to create a fresher atmosphere. The front features a fully digital instrument panel and a leather and heated steering wheel. The cockpit has a pair of manually or electrically adjustable zero gravity bucket seats that provide 41.1 inches of headroom and 41.5 inches of legroom, providing excellent space even for tall and muscular adults. The rear seats offer 43.3-inch headroom and 38.5-inch legroom. As a result, the rear also offers sufficient space for taller people. The higher finishes come standard with heated steering and heated front and rear seats. The lower models come with cloth seats, while the upper models come standard with semi-aniline or leather seats.

For infotainment, the interior offers an 8- or 9-inch touchscreen with the Nissan Connect interface, a premium audio system from Bose, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, head-up display, door-to-door navigation with voice assistance, a wireless charger and many more features.

Rogue offers a high level of security

The Nissan Rogue offers excellent safety and impressive safety ratings. The IIHS has tested and rated the Rogue 2022 as “Good” and awarded it the “Top Safety Pick+” title. So we expect it to perform similarly for the 2023 model year. Nissan built the Rogue on a unibody chassis under the Renault-Nissan CMF-CD platform. The chassis is said to be reliable and offers excellent strength for protection in the event of a collision.

In addition, Nissan has equipped all of the Rogue’s trims with Nissan safety shield 360 as standard equipment. Furthermore, the Rogue is also equipped with the ProPILOT Assist package for extra security. The Rogue’s wheels are mated to ventilated disc brakes that provide a strong bite, and once slammed shut at 60 mph, the Rogue stops at 114 mph, impressive for its class and weight.

The 2023 Nissan Rogue is certainly one of the best compact SUVs on the market. It comes packed with features and offers a powerful yet efficient motor. Most importantly, it has great safety scores and a lot of safety technology. That said, we consider it a great buy in 2022.
