Hyundai Creta turbo petrol vs DC Avanti drag race video: Can the Avanti perform?

Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular SUVs on the market. It competes with cars like Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier in the segment. The current generation Hyundai Creta was launched in 2020 and quickly became popular with buyers in a short time. It is available with various engine and transmission options. The most powerful of all is the 1.4 liter turbo petrol engine in combination with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. We’ve seen several Hyundai Creta drag race videos and here’s one where the SUV takes on DC Avanti.

The video was uploaded by Pratham Shoken on his YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger races his Hyundai Creta against DC Avanti, which can be called the first Indian sports car. Vlogger starts the video by talking about the technical specifications. The Hyundai Creta turbo petrol engine is powered by a 1.4-litre turbo engine that generates 140 hp and 242 Nm of peak torque. The DC Avanti pictured here is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 310 hp and 340 Nm of peak torque. It was only offered with a manual gearbox.

The vlogger already knew that the DC Avantiw was going to win the race. The race was held on a closed road. Vlogger mentions that the DC Avanti is not in the best condition as the rear tires have lost some grip and this would affect the performance slightly. Both cars are lined up at the starting line and the race begins. Both Hyundai Creta and DC Avanti got off to a very aggressive start. Both cars came off the line almost at the same time and Hyundai Creta was slightly ahead of DC Avanti.

After a few seconds, DC Avanti started to show its true colors and Hyundai overtook Creta without any problems. The Indian sports car continued to build up speed and the Hyundia Creta couldn’t keep up. The distance between the cars was increasing. The vlogger was only able to see the car on the track after zooming through his camera. DC Avanti had won the first round without difficulty. Although vlogger knew this was going to happen, he was still surprised to see how fast DC Avanti actually was. It should be noted that the AC and traction control were disabled in Hyundai Creta and the Avanti did not offer traction control.

For the second lap, both the cars lined up and the DC Avanti driver gave the vlogger an advantage and turned on the AC in Avanti and asked the Creta driver to continue. The vlogger did just that and started racing. Video clearly shows Hyundai Creta taking off from the starting line and leading. DC Avanti driver started racing 4 seconds after Creta moved. Creta’s ORVM shows the DC Avanti starting to speed up and getting closer. Within seconds, DC Avanti overtook Hyundai Creta and took the lead. Hyundai Creta didn’t stand a chance for DC Avanti. It was much more powerful and aerodynamic in terms of design than a boxy SUV.
