DAYTON – A man who was hit by a vehicle early Wednesday died and a person trying to help the man was hit by a second vehicle, according to a crash report from the Dayton Police Department.

The deceased, identified only as a 28-year-old man, was crossing Cornell Drive at Fotip Lane when he was hit at about 1:22 a.m. The vehicle reportedly dragged the man about 30 meters.
A second crash report indicates that the Good Samaritan was hit by a second vehicle in the same location about a minute later when he was trying to help the victim. That vehicle also ran over the first victim, according to the accident report.
The second man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The accident is still under investigation. There are no updates from the police on a possible suspect or suspects or the make of the vehicles.
