Fourth of July is typically a relaxing day filled with barbecues and fireworks, but tell that to this poor minibus.
While there’s no word on when or where this particular video was shot, it recently appeared on Reddit before going viral on Twitter.
The reason is quickly apparent, as it shows a group of people gathering to set off fireworks. However, things quickly take a bad turn when a firecracker is lit and someone yells “run”.

While the comment was probably made in jest, it was a harbinger of things to come as the fireworks didn’t make it into the air and instead exploded onto the ground. As a result, colored ‘gunners’ flew in all directions, including to the place where apparently more fireworks were stored behind the minivan.
After the initial jolt, everyone seems to relax, but it goes downhill fast from there. As you can see in the video, one of the ‘gunners’ apparently set off other fireworks in the storage room, which set off a chain reaction. A brief burst of flames gives way to a series of explosions, which engulf the minibus and quickly disappear from view.
If there’s a bright side to all this, the initial blaze gave the family a warning that something was wrong. Thanks to this warning, many of them were already on their way to safety by the time things really went south. While it remains unclear if anyone was injured, hopefully everyone escaped without injury.
Anyway, the video shows the danger of fireworks and the failure to take basic safety precautions. news week noted that the National Safety Council said fireworks cause an average of 300 vehicle fires annually in the United States, as well as 1,300 structure fires and nearly 17,000 other fires.
