“There’s a lot at stake, but we’re going to take it round by round,” Hight said. “You have to try to be perfect and you have to be aggressive out there. To win rounds and come out on top, you have to be sharp, and for that I have the best guys in the world. We have a lot of confidence now because we won the last two races and we qualified as number 1 here, but there are a lot of good cars now. ”
Leah Pruett led the Top Fuel field, Erica Enders was fastest in Pro Stock and Angelle Sampey led the Pro Stock Motorcycle lineup.
After a win last week in Colorado, Pruett had a run of 3,689 against 327.59 on Friday for her first No. 1 qualifier of the season and 12th in her career.
Enders, the Pro Stock points leader, took her third No. 1 qualifier of the year on Saturday with a 6.506 out of 210.97 in a Camaro.
Sampey set the track time record on Saturday, making the third fastest run in class history with a pass of 6,700 at 200.95 on a Suzuki.
