By now you are probably exhausted by the number of Amazon Prime Day sales channels and editors (cough cough, me) yelling at you to buy. Luxury vacuum cleaners, smart toothbrushes, best-selling vibrators, beauty products – the offers are virtually limitless, and we really to do think they are too good to pass up! But I get it – it’s a lot.
I hate to add another sale to your list, but listen up (really, Listen up) because this one is just too good not to talk about it – it’s hands down the best purchase I’ve made all year. I say that in my chest voice to anyone who will listen: The Urpower Car Seat Pet Cover ($31) is by far the best only best thing I bought in 2022. It’s a lifesaver for pet parents, and it’s 30 percent off for Prime Day.
You may be thinking, a *checks notes* car seat cover? Yes. A car seat cover. A specially designed to protect your floor, seats and windows from pet fur and drool. As a product writer, my job is to review products, and I say (again, in my chest voice) that anyone traveling with pets should get this handy car seat cover pronto. You will not regret it.
Instead of getting poetic about some crazy little pet seat cover, I want to get straight to the point:
- It stops the fur in its tracks: I have two white dogs: a pointer, whose fur sheds like pine needles, and a border collie/lab mix, whose heavy down coat gets all over the place. Between the two, the black interior of my car was once impossible to keep clean. Even the shortest trips to the grocery store or dog park caused the back seat to get covered in hair. Not anymore – the seat cover folds down over my sofa and over the top of the front seats, keeping the interior fur-free. My vacuum cleaner has never loved me so much.
- It keeps my windows clean: Both puppies love the ramen, but the ramen doesn’t like it back. If they’re not open wide enough for my dogs to dangle their heads, they drool all over the glass, leaving it covered in gross, wet streaks. This car seat cover prevents all that clutter with two connectable hooks that you can hang over the windows to protect the glass. You can still open them for airflow, but it will protect your pups from pushing their snoot against the glass. (And save you a lot of money on Windex.)
- It keeps my dogs safe: Even if I put my dogs in the back seat, they end up in the front. It’s not safe – you wouldn’t want a kid wandering around the car while it’s driving, would you? Thanks to the unique hammock design of the cover, it acts as a blocker to prevent them from rushing towards the shotgun. At the most they can peek with their heads forward to say hello, but their bodies stay in place.
- It *actually* stays in place: Speaking of staying put… this thing doesn’t move. I actually bought it because the old sheets and towels I used beforehand moved constantly as the dogs got in and out, leaving streaks of fur and dander. But this thing has a number of anchors to keep it from squirming, including four adjustable headrest loops, two adjustable window flaps, and two seat anchors that you tuck between the seat crevices for extra support. To be So secure.
Did I mention it’s waterproof (perfect for beach days and river trips when the dogs come back soaked), scratch-resistant (no snags) and easy to clean? Because that’s all.
Whether you’re planning a cross-country trip with your pet or just taking them on a quick cruise, the Urpower Dog Car Seat Cover will be your best friend. (Apart from your actually four-legged best friend, of course.) Both sizes (the standard, for sedans/small SUVs, and the XL, for trucks), are 30 percent off for Prime Day, as are the individual seat covers, trunk covers, and more. Get it here and see what all my fuss is about.
