Sheriff's Office Recovers Stolen Vehicle and Four Wheeler - Mississippi's Best Community Newspaper

NATCHEZ — During their weekend patrol, Adams County Sheriff’s officers discovered a van and a four-wheeler that had both been reported stolen on several occasions.

The four-wheeler was reportedly spotted by officers with two men on it last Friday in the Morgantown Road area of Second Street.

When officers tried to approach the two, they both fled on foot, leaving the four-wheeler behind a house on Brooklyn Drive. When officers found the four-wheeler, a blue Honda Rubicon, they noticed that no key was used and they checked its VIN number to find out that it had been stolen from a Wilkerson Road residence on June 23.

Officers seized the four-wheeler and contacted the owner. The two who were on the four-wheeler have been located and the case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Division, the sheriff said.

The following Sunday, officers were patrolling Fredrick Road in the Kingston area when they noticed a blue Honda bus with missing rear doors and other parts.

It matched the description of the van that Natchez police reported stolen on July 14. The officers checked the license plate and VIN number to confirm it was the same vehicle and contacted the Natchez Police Department.

The vehicle has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department.
