Insure.com compares auto insurance rates in each state for approximately 3,000 different vehicle models to identify both the: cheapest and most expensive vehicles to insure† They found that the Maserati Quattroporte is the most expensive new car to insure at an average of $5,176 per year. The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness is now the cheapest new vehicle to insure at $1,353 a year.

Why is the Forester Wilderness the cheapest to insure?
Insure.com says, “Because of this vehicle safety ratings and the lower price of parts that come with this model makes it less expensive to insure than virtually any other car.” “The cost of insuring a Forester for full coverage, low risk driveris very reasonable,” said Lauren McKenzie, insurance broker/agent with A Plus Insurance in Sierra Vista, Arizona. “You’re looking at about $150 a month or less, depending on the discounts drivers qualify for.”
