How easy is it? to get information about a new 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, Outback, Forester or another new model? Not all car websites are easy to navigate for new car buyers. According to an updated JD Power 2022 US Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study, Subaru of America’s website is now the second best. With the low stock of Subaru Crosstrek, Outback, Forester and other new models from 2023, SOA is still making it easy for online car buyers.

How easy it is to research a new Subaru online makes a difference to new car buyers. 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, Outback, Forester and Ascent SUV customers shop online before ever visiting a Subaru showroom. Customers will go elsewhere if a car manufacturer’s website is not easy to use.

Subaru of America is one of the smallest automakers, and they are ranked number two on the best website behind number one Kia, but ahead of Jeep, Honda, Toyota, Ford, and GMC.

What does it mean for new car buyers?

The new study measures the usefulness of car websites while shopping online for a new vehicle by examining four key measures (in order of importance): information/content, visual appeal; navigation; and speed. Subaru ranks second in the mainstream manufacturer’s website segment with a score of 724. Kia ranks first with a score of 729. Jeep (721), Honda (720) and Buick (717) round out the top five regular mark off.

The survey shows that overall satisfaction averages 705 points (on a 1000-point scale) for the mainstream segment and 711 for the luxury car segment. Lincoln ranks highest among luxury manufacturer websites with a score of 737. Lexus (734) is in second place and BMW (730) in third place.

The Summer 2022 JD Power US Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study is based on responses from 11,398 new vehicle buyers who indicate they will be on the market for a new vehicle within the next 24 months. The survey took place from April to May 2022.

What the study means for Subaru buyers

The JD Power Website Evaluation Study reveals that customers shopping for a Subaru Crosstrek, Outback, Forester or other new 2023 model will have a better experience than most other automakers’ websites.
