Everything we know about the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V

The SUV’s first-ever V badging has several advantages. The carmaker now offers a selectable V-mode for drivers, which can also be adjusted in terms of driving performance, and the ride height is also lowered by 0.8 inches. Thanks to a launch control function, the SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

Apart from this, the side profile of the car shows off beautifully with its sheer length and massive 22-inch wheels that fill the archers. Electronically limited standard Magnetic Ride Control and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension are available as standard, and V-series badging is also available for the exterior and interior. For example, the driver, the passenger doors, the tailgate and the steering wheel are equipped with the V badge.

A supercharged engine derived from the CT5-V Blackwing

For a vehicle that weighs over 6000 lbs, it certainly needs a powerful engine to carry its mass and do some towing. Cadillac claims it is the most powerful full-size SUV that one can find, which may be an easy claim given that most full size SUVs don’t have a performance version yet.

This Cadillac uses a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine, similar to the CT5-V Blackwing’s engine, meaning it can produce 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and the SUV is mainly offered as four-wheel drive.

In some cases, the vehicle can send up to 70 percent of the power to the rear wheels because it has a locking differential on the rear axle, but in most driving scenarios it’s split into 50-50. The hand-built engine delivers enough performance to accelerate the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, an impressive number considering the overall weight of the SUV. The inclusion of air suspension also makes the ride soft and comfortable.
