Front number plates are a car owner’s worst nightmare. If you live in a state that needs one, you know what we’re talking about. Unfortunately, there is no way to use any of these ugly accessories if they are required by law in your country. However, there is a licensed company to help you avoid damaging your car bumper in one condition. Check out the best way to get around front license plates you’ve ever seen, License Plate Wraps.
The best way to bypass front license plates
Unfortunately, the best way to get around front license plates is currently only available in California. That means residents of other states should continue to do it the usual way. According to AutoBuzzCalifornia asked the RDW in 2014 to find alternatives to a front license plate mounting as a cost-saving measure. It took until now before the RDW came back with a solution.
Basically, it’s a license plate cover rather than a real metal one. Only one company has been approved by the state of California to make it for car owners. The car is still embarrassingly ugly with the label visible, so enthusiasts won’t be too happy. However, it does solve the other problem, which is drilling unnecessary holes in the bumper of your car.
Number plate foils passed the California Highway Patrol tests and started a pilot program in 2015. It was for just 28 cars and ended in 2021. However, California just extended the program until 2023. The legal text of Senate Act No. 806 states, “Existing law authorizes the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue license plates for vehicles.” as specified, and to issue one or more stickers, tabs or other appropriate devices in lieu of the license plates, as specified.”

A wrap is the best way to get around front license plates. In California, it costs $50 a year for a standard license plate. However, the wrap is a one-time purchase, meaning it is a cost-effective measure. Saving money is something no one ever complains about, especially with cars. However, we are confident that California gas prices are balancing it now. However, the biggest problem the wrap solves is holes in the bumper.
If you don’t know, a standard front license plate needs a bracket. First, the bracket is mounted on the bumper. It is usually made of plastic and designed specifically for your particular model. In this way it fits perfectly to the shape of the bumper of the car. Unfortunately, then screws are needed to hold it in place. Once screwed into the bumper, the license plate can easily be mounted on the bracket. This will create holes in the front bumper of the vehicle. However, if the front label stays in place until you’re done owning the car, you’ll never see them.
A front number plate foil removes the holes in the bumper completely. However, it doesn’t solve the main problem: an unsightly tag on your front bumper. Especially with expensive sports cars, it’s a shame to see such a horrible piece of metal damage the bumper.
Other front number plates
Alternatives to the front license plate bracket are available for some makes and models. Instead of drilling into the bumper, some owners can attach the bracket to the grille or other slots on the dash. However, this does not work with every model and depends on the design. Be sure to purchase a drill-free bracket specifically matched to your vehicle’s year, make, and model to ensure it fits properly. The last thing you want is your bumper flying off on the highway.
Californians can buy a front license plate foil
Buying a license plate foil is easy and solves a huge problem. Most people find it annoying to have to drill into the bumper of their car. In addition, we hope to see more such innovations in the future and spread them to other states. Thirty different US states require front license plates. Basically, we can drop them altogether so we don’t have to look at them anymore.
