Introduced in 1992, Paganic was set to rival fellow supercar manufacturers such as Lamborghini and Ferrari. Ex-Lamborghini engineer, Horacio Pagani, founded the company in the backyard of Lamborghini and Ferrari near Modena, Italy. It later turned out that Pagani was actually successful in producing sports cars that could compete with Lamborghini and Ferrari.
The introduction of the Pagani Zonda in 1999, followed by a runtime of 20 years and 140 units, made Pagani a real and dangerous rival. The final version of the Pagani Zonda was formed in the form of the Pagani Zonda Revolucion, and this one really popped! Released in 2013, the Pagani Zonda Revolucion was an even more powerful and aerodynamically superior version of the track-only Pagani Zonda R, with an increasingly larger and more aggressive engine.
The insane engine of Pagani Zonda Revolucion
Let’s start with the best part, the engine. Featuring the Paganis’ well-known naturally aspirated AMG Mercedes V12 engine, it’s no surprise that the Zonda Revolucion’s 6.0-liter powertrain was able to produce an insane 800 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. That was no less than 50 horses more than its predecessor.
This extra power and extra horses allowed the Pagani Zonda Revolucion to reach a new top speed of 233 mph and complete a 0-60 mph time in just 2.7 seconds. Lightweight magnesium formed a six-speed sequential transmission that powered the rear-wheel drive. The transmission was very impressive to say the least, delivering gear changes in just 20ms.
The Pagani Zonda Revolucion had many additional features that further enhanced the traction system, with 12 different traction settings made available. This, in addition to the re-evaluated and modified ABS system, gave the driver the opportunity to develop a driving style specifically tailored to himself and his personal preferences.
Zonda Revolucion gets insane aerodynamics and brakes
Another huge development in the Zonda Revolucion was the improved aerodynamic capabilities. The aerodynamics of the Pagani Zonda Revolucion have been improved with front deflectors now seen on the hood, a vertical stabilizer at the rear and an all-new drag reduction system on the rear wing. The rather innovative system for reducing drag could be operated manually or automatically.
A button on the steering wheel would activate the system manually, while leaving the button would activate the system automatically. Once the DRS system kicked in, the rear wing changed between maximum and minimum downforce at +/- 0.8 g lateral acceleration and a minimum speed of 100 km/h.
Again, another part of the Zonda Revolucion that was upgraded was the brakes. The carbon ceramic Brembo brakes provided less engine fade, 15% weight savings, extra stopping power and increased durability. How much increased durability? Well, the upgraded Brembo brakes were expected to last four times longer than the previous brakes used on the Pagani Zonda.
Pagani Zonda Revolucion is beautiful and exciting
The Pagani Zonda Revolucion showed the pinnacle of evolution when it came to the Zonda, and it showed sheer speed. What Pagani wanted to achieve with the Zonda Revolucion was insanely fast car that of the Pagani Zonda R. would surpass. They wanted to enthuse their customers, and they wanted to do it quickly! Although the limits will be exceeded, it would be an extremely difficult task to make the Zonda Revolucion faster than the Zonda R, the fastest car ever on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring.
While the positives of the Pagani Zonda Revolucion completely outweigh the negatives, that doesn’t mean there weren’t negatives. The main problem was that it was too powerful and fast and completely useless as a car unless it was on the track. While most supercars can switch from racer to city car, the Pagani Zonda Revolucion finds it extremely difficult, making it one of the most ridiculous supercars of all time. In the form of the Zonda R, Pagani took the absurd supercar and made it even more absurd in every capacity.
The Pagani Zonda Revolucion is a perfect example of what is really possible when rules are rejected and boundaries are crossed. With these factors in mind, it makes the Pagani Zonda Revolucion even more lovable. Well, it’s safe to see that the Pagani Zonda Revolucion was a very impressive bike. It did and still will give you an insane experience. Excitement and excitement would never be far away when you’re in the Pagani Zonda Revolucion. An extreme track experience in a fully legal car, what more could you want? Few!
Despite the good looks of the Pagani Zonda Revolucion and its mega-impressive performance stats, the price tag was still quite exaggerated to say the least. It would have taken a whopping $2.2 million to buy one of these bad guys, which seems ridiculously expensive even for such an impressive car.
