Top 10 cars sold in India in April 2022: Wagon R, New Ertiga, Nexon become big hits
Maruti Suzuki last month maintained its position as the best selling passenger car manufacturer in the Indian market and continued to dominate the top 10 with seven cars. Here is a table of the 10 best selling cars in the country in the month of April 2022, check it out –

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R tops the list with 17,766 units to its name, followed by the recently launched 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift with 14,889 units sold. The MPV registered a month-over-month (MoM) growth of +89% as the company sold 7,888 units of the Ertiga in March this year, meaning the facelift has certainly increased its popularity in the market.
The Tata Nexon finished third to become the best-selling SUV in the Indian market in April, growing by a massive +94% year-over-year (Y0Y) compared to 6,938 units sold in the same month last year. Hyundai Creta followed with 12,651 units sold in the said month, 188 units more than in April 2021. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was fifth with 11,764 units sold last month.

The Maruti Baleno finished 7th in April 2022 with 10,938 units sold.

The 6th to 9th places were also taken by Maruti Suzuki cars, namely Eeco, Baleno, Dzire and Alto, with 11,154, 10,938, 10,701 and 10,443 units sold respectively. However, all of these four cars registered a year-on-year decline in sales. Last but not least, the Tata Punch micro SUV finished as the 10th best-selling car in India in April 2022 with 10,132 units sold, 394 less than the previous month.
