The car scores 16.45 out of 17 points in the adult safety rating. However, the micro SUV gets a 4-star rating for child protection (40.89 out of 49.00). If you are on a budget of Rs 10 lakh and are quite selective about your safety, you cannot settle for other better options than Punch.
The Mahindra XUV700 has been tested by NCAP and passed with flying colors. In terms of adult occupancy, the SUV scores 5 stars (16.03 out of 17). However, for the protection of children, the SUV scores 41.66 out of 49 points. The Mahindra XUV700 SUV costs between Rs 13.18 lakh and Rs 24.58 lakh. There is a wide range of variants available for you to choose from. Depending on your budget and luxury equipment, you can choose a variant. If you are planning to buy an SUV from an Indian manufacturer, you can easily opt for the Mahindra XUV700.
Tata Altroz, a premium hatchback from Tata Motors, has received a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. The ex-showroom price is Rs 6.20- Rs 10.15 lakh. The car scores 16.42 out of 17 points in the adult safety rating. If you are looking for a premium hatchback under Rs 10 lakhs and a 5 star safety rating then just go for it.
The Tata Nexon is the first vehicle to be produced in India to receive a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. The ex-showroom price is Rs 7.55-13.90 lakh. The car scores 16.13 out of 17 points in the adult safety rating. Nexon is a combination of muscular looks, strength, mileage and safety. If you are concerned about the above factors, you can choose Tata Nexon.
Mahindra XUV300 is the 2nd Mahindra SUV to achieve a safety rating of 5 stars. This SUV has a car starting price of Rs 8.41 lakh while the top variant goes up to Rs 14.07 lakh. The car scores 16.06 out of 17 points in the adult safety rating. The XUV300 is the closest rival to the Tata Nexon. If you don’t want a Nexon, you can opt for XUV300 as it offers the same features and is also in the same price range.
Honda Jazz was awarded a 4-star rating for the adult safety rating and a 3-star rating for child safety in the recent Global NCAP test. The 4-star safety rating for adults scored 13.89 points out of 17. On the other hand, the 3-star safety rating scored 31.54 points out of 49. The total number of points achieved by the vehicle is 45.43 out of 66. Prices for this car are between Rs 7.78 lakh and Rs 10.09 lakh.
Toyota Urban Cruiser
The Toyota Urban Cruiser receives a 4-star rating according to the adult safety rating. The Urban Cruiser scores 13.52 points out of 17. In contrast, the SUV scores 3 stars for the child safety rating. The points scored by the car in terms of child safety are 36.68 out of 49. The overall scores of the car are 50.20 out of 66. The prices for this car range between Rs 8.88 lakh and Rs 11.58 lakh.
Tata Tiago / Tigor
The Tiago and Tigor get almost the same rating when it comes to adult safety. Both cars score 12.52 points out of 17 for adult occupant protection. However, the Tata cars achieve 3 stars when it comes to the child safety rating. Tata Tiago costs between Rs 5.38 lakh and Rs 7.80 lakh. On the other hand, Tata Tigor is priced between Rs 5.98 lakh and Rs 8.57 lakh.
The Mahindra Thar achieves four stars for adult occupant protection (12.52 points). The SUV also gets four stars for child protection (41.11 points out of 49). If you like dirt, off-road and adventure, the Mahindra Thar is an excellent choice. The Mahindra Thar costs between Rs 13.53 lakh and Rs 16.03 lakh
Nissan Magnite gets a 4-star safety rating for adults with 11.85 points out of 17. On the other hand, the safety rating for children is 2 stars with 24.88 points out of 49. The total number of points achieved by the vehicle is 36 .73 out of 66. The Nissan Magnite costs between Rs 5.85 lakh and Rs 10.16 lakh.
