As car prices in India are constantly rising, a handful of cars fall under the budget of Rs 5 lakh. Below we have listed a few budget-friendly cars for your convenience.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800
The Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 can be considered a legendary hatchback that is the proud possession of many Indians. The entry-level hatchback offers good mileage and comfort and is also easy on the wallet. The Alto 800 is available with petrol and CNG engines. The price of the car starts from Rs 3.39 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.03 lakh.
Both the CNG and the petrol variant will have a 796cc engine. The petrol engine variant is only available with a manual transmission. While the petrol variant offers a fuel efficiency of 22.05 km/kg, the CNG variant offers a fuel efficiency of 31.59 km/kg. The petrol engine offers a maximum power of 47.33 hp and a maximum torque of 69 Nm. On the other hand, the CNG engine offers a maximum power of 40.36 hp and a maximum torque of 60 Nm.
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is also a good option for those on a budget under Rs 5 lakh. The price of the car starts from Rs 4.00 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.64 lakh.
Both the CNG and the petrol variant will have a 998cc engine. The petrol engine variant is available with both manual and automatic transmissions. While the petrol variant offers a fuel efficiency of 21.4 km/kg, the CNG variant offers a fuel efficiency of 31.2 km/kg. The petrol engine offers a maximum power of 67.05 hp and a maximum torque of 90 Nm. On the other hand, the CNG engine offers a maximum power of 58.33 hp and a maximum torque of 78 Nm.
The hatchback costs between Rs 4.50 lakh and Rs 5.83 lakh. Kwid will get two petrol engines – 799cc and 999cc. Buyers will also get an option for manual and automatic engine versions.
The 799cc engine delivers a maximum power of 53.26 hp, while maximum torque is 72 Nm. The ARAI mileage is 22.25 kmpl. On the other hand, the 999cc engine offers a maximum power of 67.06 hp, while the maximum torque is 91 Nm.
The Hyundai Santro is priced between Rs 4.87 lakh and Rs 6.38 lakh, the hatchback is available in petrol and CNG engine variants. The 1086cc petrol engine offers a mileage of 20.3 kmpl, while the CNG engine delivers a mileage of 30.48 km/kg. The Santro will have an option for both manual and automatic variants.
The CNG variant delivers 59.17 hp and 85.3 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the petrol engine offers a maximum power of 68.05 hp and a maximum torque of 99 Nm.
Maruti Suzuki Eco
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco can be a good option for those who run a small business and are looking for a car/van that can carry some cargo during day-to-day activities. The van is available in both petrol and CNG variants. The petrol variant starts at Rs 4.63 lakh while the CNG variant costs Rs 5.94 lakh.
An 1196cc engine is offered in both a standard petrol and a CNG variant. The petrol variant offers 72.41 hp power, 98 Nm of torque and a mileage of 16.11 kmpl. Likewise, the CNG variant offers a power of 61.68 hp, a torque of 85 Nm and a mileage of 20.88 kmpl.
