Front row qualifiers Kay van Berlo and Riley Dickinson have been relegated to the back of the grid for Saturday’s Porsche Carrera Cup North America race at Road America after their cars failed a technical check.

Van Berlo and Dickinson’s Kelly-Moss Road & Race Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars were found to have “non-compliant parts”, according to separate IMSA technical bulletins issued after Friday’s qualifying session. No further details were given about the parts in question.

The same violation was true of the No. 10 Kelly-Moss machine that qualified third in the Am class with Vernon McClure behind the wheel.

The lap times of all three cars were removed, putting them at the back of the Race 1 grid and promoting JDX Racing’s Parker Thompson to overall pole.

It also brought MDK Motorsports driver Trenton Estep to the front row, with Kelly-Moss pair Michael McCarthy and Sean Varwig starting third and fourth.

A updated start list for the opening race, McClure shows 31st, followed by championship leader Van Berlo and Dickinson, who is fourth in the standings.

Qualifying times for Race 2 are based on the drivers’ best laps in the first 40-minute meeting, which starts at 8:50 a.m. ET.
