Top Upcoming Auto Launches in October 2022

The festive season in India has started, as it is in full swing in October, we can expect quite few new car launches this month. This is considered a very favorable time for new vehicle purchases in India, so the festive season generally has higher sales compared to other times of the year.

On the eve of the holiday season in India this year, the country received very interesting products from automakers in India last month. The Indian car market witnessed the introduction of many new cars such as the Mercedes Benz EQS 580 4MATIC, Tata Tiago EV, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Nexon XZ+(L) variant, Volvo Petrol mild-hybrid XC40, XC60, XC90 and S90, Audi A4, Tata Punch CAMO Edition, Tata Harrier XMAS and XMS variants, Mahindra XUV400, Citroen C5 Aircross, BMW X4 ’50 Jahre M Edition’, Toyota Innova Crysta Limited Edition Petrol and the Hyundai Venue N-Line.

Chinese automaker BYD Auto recently dethroned Tesla to become the top-selling EV brand in the world and is making its presence felt in India following Tesla’s departure. BYD auto is expected to introduce its Atto 3 electric car in India this month. The Atto 3 will rival MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona in the Indian market. Entering a segment where EV dominance has not yet been established, it will be a great step for BYD to test the waters with the Atto 3 electric SUV in India. BYD Auto has also been actively expanding its dealer network in India in preparation for the launch of the Atto 3 EVs.

Hyundai has previously confirmed that it will be bringing the Ioniq 5 EV to India later this year and they couldn’t possibly get a better time to introduce a new product than the holiday season. On the international market, the Ioniq 5 is offered in two versions, namely standard and long range. Hyundai will hopefully bring both versions to India.

Following the successful launch of the EQC, AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ and EQS 580 4MATIC, Mercedes-Benz aims to strengthen its position in the electric luxury car market in India with the introduction of a more affordable EV, the EQB. According to the nomenclature used by Mercedes-Benz, it will be placed under the EQC in the company’s Ev product range.

MG has been teasing the upcoming Hector for quite some time, so we know a few details about it too. For example, it gets a huge 14-inch portrait-oriented screen, an ‘Argyle Inspires Diamond Mesh Grille’ on the front. On the inside it will have a two tone oak white and black theme with a brushed metal finish. The new cockpit-inspired console will have a leather casing. The new instrument panel and door panels will be complemented by horizontal lines that will give the interior a spacious feel. The AC vents have chrome finishes. MG is expected to launch the new Hector this month for Diwali.

Nissan India has issued an event invite for October 18, what they plan to do has not been disclosed by the company. Nissan India has managed to keep the details of this event a secret. Keeping a product a secret in this internet age with a camera phone in almost every hand is next to impossible, but Nissan has managed to do it. Well, we can’t even know for sure if it’s a product or a new product philosophy/architecture or a concept. The event will take place on October 18, and we’ll have to wait to find out.
