Woman arrested for theft of Good Samaritan's car with children in it

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WSMV) – Murfreesboro police said a woman was arrested after she disabled her own car and stole the car of a Good Samaritan containing an 18-year-old and a child.

The woman perished and crashed into a tree after the children attacked her around 2:35 p.m. Saturday.

According to a preliminary report, the woman was driving on I-24 and got off the Medical Center Parkway exit when she hit a curb, rendering her Ford Focus useless.

Two Good Samaritans stopped to help and the woman ended up stealing one of their cars. She was driving on Medical Center Parkway and collided with two vehicles.

She was confronted by the 18-year-old and an underage child causing her to drive into the oncoming lane near Joe Knight Drive and crash into a tree.

She would have run off after a crash. A Murfreesboro police officer chased the woman and arrested her with the help of an off-duty police officer from the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The Good Samaritan was reunited with her children who were not injured in the crash.

The woman is being questioned by detectives and charges are coming.
